Today's Education system is seriously flawed-- it focuses on teaching rather than learning.
"Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing is worth learning can be taught ."
In most of the schools, memorization is mistaken for learning. Most of what is remembered is remembered only for a short time, but then is quickly forgotten.
I have a very simple proposition. The more we teach, the more students learn-- But some students are learned more than others.
The quantity of human knowledge is exploding. Rather than memorizing material from static textbooks, students need to learn how to become analyst and investigator who can work with knowledge. He himself assembles to solve complex problems we have not managed to solve.
We must help students learn how to find and apply knowledge. But we also need to teach students in ways that ensure that a good deal of knowledge is absorbed and retained in their own heads.
On a broader level, we all should identify and estimate the influence of educational, psychological and social factors on learning; rather than mere concentrating on completion of curriculum.
Its true that in today's time, Education is not just about cramming but its about exploring broaden horizon of a concept..

ReplyDeleteNow a days having knowledge is not enough, we should prepare ourselves in a way that we can apply our knowledge in different circumstances.......
ReplyDeleteKnowledge enhances one's personality. Knowledge is like fertiliser of the tree in human life. Human grows physically from birth to death, completes a cycle like a tree, but knowledge is the one that gives worth to human life and society like a trees give fruits.
ReplyDeleteThings are nowdays practical...!! Yeah its true that focus has been shifted from providing knowledge to teaching... People are more inspired to sell their minds.. Bitter Things Sustain !! ;)

ReplyDeleteWell said by shweta, "Knowledge Is Power". I think students should also be encouraged to question everything what they see around them, what they are taught during classes, and what they think on it. Human mind is designed in such a way that nothing is impossible for us just need to be in the right track. "I know the thing well if I can imagine that well".It is well said by Sir Albert Einstein, " Knowledge is worth nothing without imagination".
ReplyDeleteEducation is a much broader concept than literacy so, do not just confine yourselves and enter into a world of learning with innovation, advancement which makes you learn the concepts in an easier way!!
ReplyDeleteKnowledge is a base of everything but not the cramming. Nowadays only knowledge part is not sufficient, one shud understand it and shud learn how to apply it..:)
ReplyDeleteEverything you need for your better future and success has already been written in various books but how can we grab them in our knowledge and what would be the way, that matters. Verbally and Practically these are the two ways, we need to do practical of our verbal knowledge to get a better understanding of our education.
ReplyDelete“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” said by W.B.
Its completely true that in today's world, the intelligence of a student is judged by the marks that they get in their exams nor on their understanding of the concepts. Due to this reason, students are fighting to get good marks.....but we have to understand that knowledge is that power which helps the student in the future to attain a good position in life.
ReplyDeleteKnowledge is the basic step of learning. Knowledge is something that we get to know from sources like books and internet and we absorb it as it is without any modification. Our understanding and application of mind is based on the knowledge that we have.......

ReplyDeleteA child acquires knowledge from his surroundings just after birth, but later education helps him to improve that knowledge. But, it completely depends on an individual that how the knowledge is interpreted or utilized at its best. A tree requires water to flourish, likewise, education is necessary for sharpening of one's knowledge.
